Leading through change
Amid constant change, don’t underestimate the stability you offer.
While there's many things shifting beyond your team's control, remind them what’s 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 true.
Amid constant change, don’t underestimate the stability you offer.
While there's many things shifting beyond your team's control, remind them what’s 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 true:
1. You’ve got their back.
2. Their wellbeing still matters—burnout isn’t the price of progress.
3. There's still a safe space to speak up and ask questions.
Even when everything else is in flux, the foundations of good leadership can stay unchanged.
What anchoring message does your team need to hear this week?
Flying solo
It all begins with an idea.
Are leaders being set up to succeed?
In a recent podcast episode with Adam Grant for her new book Strong Ground, Brené Brown noted that leaders are expected to perform at a high level, yet coaching isn’t considered the norm.
Choosing to lead without a coach is common.
Yet when leaders’ across various industries have their days filled with restructures, AI-driven change, and back-to-back meetings, many are feeling tired and worn down.
I’m not sure we’re fully considering the implications this has on leaders’ decision-making, their wellbeing and those of their teams.
When does it become necessary for leaders to engage coaching support?
And when is it okay for leaders to manage alone?
Mentoring vs Coaching
It all begins with an idea.
Ever left a coffee chat feeling...flat?
You got their time but not what you really needed.
Often, the missing piece is clarity in the ask.
When you reach out to someone — especially for coaching or mentoring — being clear about what you’re looking for helps everyone.
1. It makes it easier for them to say yes.
2. It helps them show up ready to play the right role.
3. And it helps you leave with what you came for.
Ask yourself:
→ Am I looking for answers — or to have my thinking stretched?
→ Am I bridging a knowledge gap — or trying to find clarity in the noise?
→ Do I want to hear their story — or uncover my next step?
Mentors share wisdom + advice.
Coaches ask questions + unlock your own thinking.
Both are valuable.
Being clear on what you need?
That's often the difference between a good conversation and a great one.
